Welcome to R2 Conf 2024!

Dear brother and sisters in Christ,

Thank you for signing up and coming for the R2 Conference. I’m really encouraged by your presence and for your desire to engage with the life-giving Word of God more deeply and personally. Zion-Serangoon BP Church has had a long history of organising annual reformation lectures, and it’s both our joy and blessing to expand these annual lectures into the R2 Conference this year.

What is the reformation really about and why is it still so important for us today? Many people think of the Reformation as a one-off event that happened in church history back in 1517, but it’s so much more than that. The Reformation event was only a catalyst and rallying cry for the Christian and the Church to continually reform till Christ returns. Without continual reformation, both the Christian and the Church stagnate, becoming ineffective and irrelevant to the prevailing culture and needs of the present time.

At this year’s conference, we hope we can rethink and reimagine the Reformation and its ongoing impact on our lives, in our churches and in the world. I pray we will allow the Holy Spirit to reignite our love for God’s Word so we can be continually transformed and renewed by it (Romans 12:2), and that through this personal renewal, you and I can be more effective vessels of the Gospel to a world in dire need of the Saviour.
